Bastian Buitkamp

Bastian Buitkamp is a Research Associate at LMU Munich and a member of the ERC-funded SMALLPLATFORMS project. His work examines political communication and contentious speech on small and alternative digital platforms, with a particular focus on data collection, computational analysis, and visualization. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and combines expertise in political science with experience in data science, digital research methods, and research IT. Alongside his research, he contributes to the development of a prototype for locally hosted AI infrastructure designed to support research in the humanities.
