SANGEET KUMAR

Sangeet Kumar is a cooperation partner with For Digital Dignity, Project ONLINERPOL and Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication at Denison University, USA. He received his PhD from the University of Iowa. Kumar’s current research interests are located at the intersections of new media technologies, cultural globalization, popular culture and postcolonial studies. He brings these strands together to explore the global dynamics of power and agency on digital platforms and popular culture. His recent research has appeared in journals such as Information, Communication and SocietyInternational Journal of CommunicationPopular Communication, and Global Media and Communication. He teaches courses that explore digital media and popular culture from critical, theoretical, global and postcolonial perspectives. Prior to his academic career he was a journalist for a daily newspaper based out of New Delhi in India.
