Irfan Ahmad is a collaborator with For Digital Dignity, Project ONLINERPOL and Senior Research Fellow at The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, Göttingen, Germany. Previously, he worked as Associate Professor of Political Anthropology at the Institute for Religion, Politics and Society, Australian Catholic University, Melbourne. Earlier, he was a senior lecturer in politics at Monash University, Australia where he taught for five years (2009-2013). Before moving to Australia, he taught at Utrecht University and University of Amsterdam. He won Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research’s (NWO) Rubicon Postdoctoral Grant to undertake his postdoctoral research at Leiden University where he moved to on completing his doctorate (cum laude) in anthropology from University of Amsterdam.
