AASIM KHAN

Aasim Khan is a cooperation partner with For Digital Dignity, Project ONLINERPOL and Assistant Professor at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIITD). He is a social scientist with an interest in theories of the ‘public sphere’, digital citizenship and civic media in India. His doctoral research at King’s College London is on the sociology and politics of communications rights in India and the impact of the Internet. Aasim did his MA at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London and completed his B.Sc. at St. Stephen’s College in Delhi.

Over the years, he has been awarded several research fellowships including the Global Institute Scholarship and the first Mazumdar Fellowship for his doctoral work at King’s College London. In 2014, he was awarded the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) fellowship in Berlin, where he published a report on the future of Internet governance. His articles and commentary have appeared in Global PolicyEconomic and Political Weekly. He is also a regular contributor to The Book Review.
